Closest downstream of exhaust gases of internal combustion engine first oxidation catalyst (10) is arranged in auxiliary channel (4), and located after second oxidation catalyst (7) is arranged in outlet path for point fusion of main and auxiliary exhaust channels (3 and 4). Depending on weight of total flow of exhaust gases released internal combustion engine, actual temperature and required temperature of exhaust gas flow running on exhaust gas neutralisation device (2), using control value corresponding to current conditions or close to them and produced from parametric control field considering characteristics of flow of exhaust gases and required temperature increase, controlled supply of hydrocarbons for their injection into auxiliary channel (4) in exhaust gas flow before first oxidation catalyst (10) and (or) in exhaust gas mass flow in auxiliary channel (4). Repeatedly record actual temperature of exhaust gases, arriving at exhaust gas neutralisation device (2).
