METHOD FOR DETERMINING GERMINATING ABILITY OF SEEDS OF AGRICULTURAL PLANTS

FIELD: agriculture.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular, to quality control and preparation for laying seed material of agricultural plants in soil and can be used in field crop sector. Method for determining germinating ability of seeds of agricultural plants comprises irradiating seeds to be sorted, from the source of electromagnetic radiation with wavelength of 5,000-9,000 Å. Spectral characteristics of seed diffuse reflection when irradiating are being fixed from the source of electromagnetic radiation with wavelength of 5,000-9,000 Å. Then obtained spectral characteristics of seed diffuse reflection are being compared with reference reflection spectra for these seeds and seeds which lost germinating ability are being culled out. Criterion for culling seeds out is the presence of a dip in the spectral characteristics of seed diffuse reflection.;EFFECT: proposed method for determining germinating ability of seeds provides increased efficiency of quality control processes and preparation for laying seed material of agricultural plants in soil, reduced power consumption of processes, simplified design of process equipment, use of the present invention increases accuracy of controlling quality of seed material of agricultural plants.;1 cl, 2 dwg
