The invention relates to a method for automatically determining the orientation of a weather station, comprising at least two differently oriented brightness sensors (H1, H2, H3, H4). The measurement variables of these brightness sensors (H1, H2, H3, H4) are evaluated as a function of the time of day, in order to derive the sky direction and the orientation of the weather station from this. The invention further comprises a weather station for performing the method.
