The present disclosure discloses a work cart (2) for a track construction machine (1), which has a transfer conveyor (3, 5) which is coupled to an adjusting device (4) for adjusting the position of at least one degree of freedom of the transfer conveyor (3, 5). The work cart (2) has a measuring device and a control or control device communicatively connected thereto, which is operatively coupled to the at least one adjusting device. The measuring device is designed to detect temporally and spatially at least one track-related alignment parameter of the work carriage (2) and to transmit it to the control or control device, the position of the transfer conveyor (3, 5) of the control or control device depending on the alignment parameter is adjustable.
