Method and device for detecting the position of a pot on an induction hob

For detecting the position of a pot in the region of an induction coil of a cooking point of an induction hob, three detection coils are arranged outside adjacent to the induction coil. The induction coil and the detection coils work together in such a way that one of them sends a signal as a transmitter and the other receives the signal as a receiver and supplies it to an evaluation, whereby putting a pot on the hob changes the emitted signal as field damping, reflection or field displacement. This signal change is detected by the detection coil and the evaluation and from this a position of the pot at the cooking position or a displacement of the pot at the cooking position is detected.
