A streaming device includes a circuit housed in a device connectable to a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) to detect a connection state of a universal serial bus (USB) supply to the streaming device; to set an operating mode to an HDMI mode or Mobile High Definition Link (MHL) mode, based on the connection status of the USB supply to the streaming device. The device selects a supply current from the USB power supply or the MHL power supply based on the connection status of the USB power supply to the device.
