Control preparation for microbiological fluorescence in situ hybridization methods

The invention relates to a control preparation for use in a method of detecting a target microorganism in microbiological pathology comprising a plurality of sectional bodies connected by a composite polymer, each sectional body comprising a matrix polymer. A first cutting body comprises a nucleic acid sequence specific for the target microorganism. A second cleavage body comprises a second nucleic acid sequence which has one deletion, one additional or one different base compared to the first sequence at one to four non-positions and does not bind under stringent conditions to a probe specific for the first sequence. The invention further relates to methods for the detection and discrimination of two microorganism species of the same genus, as well as kits for use in these methods.
