Pultrusion process for the production of fiber-reinforced plastic profiles

A pultrusion method for producing a fiber-reinforced plastic profile is described with at least the following steps: arranging a number of fiber rovings (13) into a unidirectional fiber preform (14, 214, 314) having a defined first cross-section, applying at least one ply (15, 215, 315) to the unidirectional fiber preform (14, 214, 314) for creating a ply structure (20, 220, 320), preferably a multidirectional ply structure, each ply (15, 215, 315) having lateral edge portions (222a, 222b, 322a 322b) comprising overlapping two side edge portions (222a, 222b, 322a 322b) to create a common overlap portion (223, 323), the method further comprising a step of locally compressing the overlap portion to fix the two overlapping side edge portions in the overlap portion. Furthermore, a pultrusion device designed to carry out the method is presented.
