The element (1) has lateral guardrails (5) arranged at sides of vertical ladder elements (3), respectively. Each guardrail comprises articulated parallelogram assemblies (7) formed of upper bars (9) and lower bars (11), respectively. The upper bars and the lower bars are horizontally arranged with respect to each other in a continuous manner. The upper and lower bars are folded in a vertical plane along a reduced volume where the ladder elements are moved closer to one another, in an unserviceable position.
