The method involves replacing a diesel engine and a generator of a locomotive (10) by a modern diesel engine (28) and a rectified alternator (30). A speed controlling unit is installed for allowing linear progression of speed of the locomotive. Two driving cabs are installed in a direction diagonal to a cabin for driving the locomotive. Maintenance assistance and safety equipments are installed on the locomotive, and an anti-skid device is installed in the locomotive.
