The process for recovery of a data link between a first communication device in flight (1) of an aircraft and a second communication device (2) to the ground or at sea, comprises, when it is executed in flight: • a detection of a loss of communication; • a recovery of a first position (15) of the path taken by the aircraft (3) to which a reception of data was operational; • a recovery of a position of the second communication device, called the point of view, • one of the antenna pointing towards the point of the targeted; • a generation of a portion of a path (20) making it possible to guide the aircraft (3) until the first position (15); • a search for a signal coming from the data link lost.
