Calibration of a sender or of the radar receiver polarimetric

A method of calibration of a transmitter (1) or of a receiver (2) of polarimetric radar (10) makes it possible to determine the matrices of polarimetrical distortions which are associated respectively with the transmitter and receiver. The process does not use of a target - standard, can be implemented under conditions, in particular in the configuration bistatic, and requires a number of measurements, which is reduced. Some of these measurements of the calibration method are produced by interposing a removable means (3) on the path of an electromagnetic signal which is emitted and detected by the radar, and an angular position of the removable means is varied between two different measurements.
