The invention relates to a drug combination comprising xenon gas and at least one NMDA receptor antagonist in liquid or solid form for treating a disease caused by dysfunction of dopamine synaptic transmission in a human patient. The NMDA receptor antagonist is preferentially chosen from memantine, nitromantantine, amantadine and ifenprodil. The invention restores the normal functioning of the dopamine synaptic transmission of diseased neurons whose functioning is impaired.
