A process for preparing fuel oil by pyrolysis of acrylic latex adhesive waste comprises crushing the acrylic latex adhesive waste and placing the crushed materials into a pyrolysis reactor, heating the materials up to the prepyrolysis temperature within the duration of prepyrolysis reaction, heating the materials up to the pyrolysis temperature within the duration of pyrolysis reaction to obtain pyrolysis products including liquid and gas and distilling the pyrolysis liquid to get pyrolytic tar containing various fractions. The reaction prepyrolysis reaction products may be delivered to a condensing tower for condensation to recover prepyrolysis water and the pyrolysis reaction products may be delivered to the condensing tower to recover the pyrolysis liquid and gas. The pyrolysis reactor preferably consisted of a fixed bed reactor and a moving bed reactor or a fluidised bed reactor.
