The device (1) has a locking element (2) which is movable between a locking position and a non-locking position. A drive mechanism (3) moves the locking element. A control device (4) actuates the drive mechanism. A power supply (5) actuates the control device and the drive mechanism so that the locking element is in locking position for locking the door and non-locking position for opening the door. An independent claim is included for locking system.
