The measuring system has a measuring device, particularly formed as theodolite, total station (1) or laser tracker with position determination functionality for determining the position of the target point with respect to an internal coordinate system. The measuring device has a base, a display unit (2) defining a target axis and a photosensitive laminar detector. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a measuring method for measuring and tracking a moving target defining a target point; and (2) a computer program product for executing the method.
