Method for testing the functionality of a driver assistance system installed in a test vehicle

The method involves partially controlling operation of a target vehicle (3) by a test vehicle (2) i.e. motor car, for intentionally performing defined driving maneuvers by a transmission of control signals over a wireless communication link. The control signals are determined based on detection signals from sensors (5) and rear sensors (10) to be provided in the test vehicle and capturing the target vehicle, where the sensors detect and process position data of the target and test vehicles, where the position data is supplied form the external sensors by the test and target vehicles. An independent claim is also included for a test apparatus for testing functionality of a driver assistance system.
