The connecting device comprises a support surface (4) for supporting the cable section, and a cover connected with the base element (3) and provided with a pressing surface. Several contact elements are arranged for making electrical contact with the individual conductors of the flat ribbon cable. The base element has a first guide and support unit for longitudinally-displaceable mounting of the cable on the support surface, and a second guide and support unit for slidably guiding and holding the cover. An independent claim is included for an electrical apparatus.
