MESSAGE-BASED PATH SELECTION FOR TRANSPORT PROTOCOLS SUPPORTING MULTIPLE TRANSPORT PATHS

There are provided measures enabling/realizing for message-based path selection for transport protocols supporting multiple transport paths, i.e. distribution of messages to different transport paths based on transport characteristics. Such measures exemplarily comprise obtaining transport characteristics of plural transport paths of a single peer- to-peer connection via a transport protocol supporting multiple transport paths, determining preferred transport characteristics for an application message to be transmitted on the single peer-to-peer connection depending on a type of the application message, and selecting one of the plural transport paths of the single peer-to-peer connection as the transport path for transmitting the application message on the single peer-to-peer connection, wherein the selected transport path has transport characteristics meeting the determined preferred transport characteristics for the application message.
