A method for assigning at least one production order with known job data from one or a plurality of production orders pending for processing to a specific production device of a plurality of production devices, wherein each of the production devices is describable by production facility data regarding their production capabilities. The invention is therefore based on the object to develop a method with which an efficiency-optimized assignment of at least one production order to a specific production facility without manual intervention and personal analysis is possible. The invention comprises a method in which the assignment of the at least one production order to a specific production device is carried out automatically with regard to at least one sorting criterion.
