PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsion composition in which oil as an effective ingredient is applicable to a product without depending on an organic solvent; a product having the emulsion composition; a method for reducing a content of an organic solvent in an emulsion composition; and a method for selecting an emulsion agent.SOLUTION: An emulsion composition contains an aqueous phase, an oil phase containing oil satisfying conditions of expressions (1) and (2), and particles of a polycondensation polymer having closed endoplasmic reticulum formed of an amphiphilic substance which spontaneously forms a closed endoplasmic reticulum or a hydroxyl group, where a mass ratio of a content of an organic solvent being a good solvent to the oil to a content of the oil in the composition is 25 or less (including 0).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
