PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimally design the number of air ducts and a width of the air ducts that are provided in a stator of a rotary electric machine.;SOLUTION: In a stator axial length calculation routine, a stator axial length Lg is calculated from output P, a core length Ln and an entire air quantity Q and in a total duct ventilation area calculation routine, a total duct ventilation area S is calculated from an update parameter (m), an update stator axial length Lg1 and the core length Ln. In a duct number and width calculation routine, a number N of ducts, a duct width Ld and a coil rising temperature T are calculated from an increment parameter (i) and the total ventilation area S and in an update calculation routine, subsequent arithmetic operation is resumed while including the total duct ventilation area calculation routine by increasing a value of the update parameter (m) or subsequent arithmetic operation is resumed while including the stator axial length calculation routine by changing a value of the output P in the stator axial length calculation routine.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT
