PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a zinc electrode mixture material paste for a nickel zinc battery, which enables the achievement of an excellent strength by increasing a binding strength among particles making up an electrode, which is produced by polytetrafluoroethylene fine fibers; a zinc electrode; and a method for manufacturing a nickel zinc battery.SOLUTION: It is preferable that a method for manufacturing a zinc electrode mixture material paste of a nickel zinc battery, in which the zinc electrode mixture material paste includes at least, a zinc oxide, zinc, polytetrafluoroethylene and water, comprises the steps of: adding 10-40 pts.mass of water to 100 pts.mass of solid contents of the zinc electrode mixture material paste in total, and kneading them so that the polytetrafluoroethylene makes fine fibers with a shear stress applied thereto; and adding water so that the total addition amount of the water becomes 40-65 pts.mass to 100 pts.mass of all of solid contents of the zinc electrode mixture material paste after the kneading step with the shear stress applied, thereby softening the zinc electrode mixture material paste.SELECTED DRAWING: None
