PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent solidification of molten residue on a molten residue gutter when temperature of a blast furnace is reduced.SOLUTION: There are provided a molten iron residue processing method in a large blast furnace molten iron gutter and a large blast furnace molten iron gutter skimmer damper, in which, when temperature of a blast furnace is reduced, molten residue is made to get over upper surface of a skimmer damper 3A of a large blast furnace molten iron gutter, allowed to flow to downstream side of the skimmer damper 3A, and molten iron 11 and the molten residue 12 are mixed and discharged from the large blast furnace molten iron gutter to a molten iron gutter. When temperature of the blast furnace is recovered, by loading refractory material on upper surface of the skimmer damper of the large blast furnace molten iron gutter, the molten residue is trapped with the skimmer damper of the large blast furnace molten iron gutter, the molten residue 12 is discharged from upstream side of the skimmer damper to a molten residue gutter, and the molten iron 11 is discharged to the molten iron gutter on downstream side of the skimmer damper.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
