PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substance which is a sodium channel blocker for the treatment of the reduction or loss of superficial sensitivity or sense of touch in a human or another mammal, and to provide a pharmaceutical composition containing the substance.SOLUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of the reduction or loss of superficial sensitivity or sense of touch in a human being or another mammal comprises as an active ingredient a sodium channel blocker (SCB) selected from saxitoxin or a derivative thereof, tricyclic 3,4-propinoperhydropurine compounds such as neosaxitoxin, descarbamoylsaxitoxin, and gonyautoxin (GTX), or tetrodotoxin or a derivative thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: None
