PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent refrigerant residence at a refrigerant flow passage at a heat exchanger as much as possible.SOLUTION: This invention relates to an evaluation device 30 for a heat exchanger comprising a heat exchanging part for flowing refrigerant to several refrigerant flow passages arranged in multi-stages along a vertical direction and exchanging heat between the refrigerant and air; a refrigerant header where gaseous-phase refrigerant flows and each of one-end sides of several refrigerant flow passages is connected; several capillary tubes each of which is connected to the other end side of the several refrigerant flow passages; and a distributor for merging several capillary tubes at merging positions. There is provided a judgement part 32 for judging whether or not the refrigerant is accumulated at the heat exchanging part on the basis of a relation of a height in a vertical direction of the refrigerant flow passage at the outlet of the heat exchanging part in regard to each of the refrigerant flow passages, a first pressure loss of the refrigerant at the refrigerant flow passage at the heat exchanging part, a second pressure loss of the refrigerant at the capillary tubes, and a height in a vertical direction from the lower end at the heat exchanging part to the refrigerant flow passage at the lower-most stage in a vertical direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
