PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a performance evaluation device of an exhaust gas catalyst or an exhaust gas sensor capable of correctly reproducing a change in temperature and flow amount of the exhaust gas of an actual car running in a test mode.SOLUTION: A device includes: a test gas feeding part 1; a storage part 2 for an object to be evaluated which stores an object 3 to be evaluated; a test gas feeding pipe line 4 extended between a test gas feeding part and the storage part for storing an object to be evaluated; a heating part 5 and a heat exchange part 6 provided halfway of the test gas feeding pipe line; and a cooling fluid feeding part 7 for feeding a cooling fluid to the heat exchange part. A temperature sensor 8 is arranged inside the storage part for an object to be evaluated. Further, the device includes: a test gas temperature setting part 9 for receiving an input of a temperature change setting value of the test gas for the purpose of the performance evaluation of the object to be evaluated; and a control part 10 for controlling a cooling liquid feeding amount of the cooling liquid feeding part so that a temperature change of the test gas before passing through the object to be evaluated coincides with the temperature change setting value based on the measurement value of the temperature sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
