PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating a corrosive atmosphere of metal iron in iron-containing oxide, whereby it is possible to evaluate whether metal iron in iron-containing oxide is in a corrosion-prone atmosphere, and a method for producing granular materials using the evaluation method.SOLUTION: A method for evaluating a corrosive atmosphere of metal iron in iron-containing oxide includes the steps of inserting a steel bar as a working electrode into iron-containing oxide comprising moisture, measuring a self potential of the steel bar with the reference electrode kept in contact with the surface of the iron-containing oxide, and evaluating a corrosive atmosphere of metal iron in the iron-containing oxide on the basis of the measured self potential.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
