PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide highly antimicrobial and fungicidal artificial soil particles with high safety which exhibits stable antimicrobial and fungicidal effects over the long term considering the relationship between the artificial soil particles and the antimicrobial and fungicide used therefor.SOLUTION: Antibacterial fungicidal artificial soil particles 50 (51, 52, 53, 54) comprising a filler 3 and/or fiber 1 and a binder, wherein a quaternary ammonium salt 32 is intercalated between the layers of an inorganic layered compound 31 containing antibacterial fungicide 30. The quaternary ammonium salt 32 is at least one member selected from the group consisting of didecyldimethylammonium chloride, benzalkonium chloride, alkyltrimethylammonium salt, and dialkyldimethylammonium salt.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
