PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: scandia stabilized zirconia powder for a solid oxide fuel cell, which is high in crystal structure stability, and low in grain boundary resistance value and which has high ion conductivity; scandia-stabilized zirconia sintered compact for a solid oxide fuel cell; and methods for manufacturing them.SOLUTION: Scandia stabilized zirconia powder for a solid oxide fuel cell comprises: a compound expressed by the following general formula (1): (ZrO)(ScO)(AlO). In the formula (1), 0.09≤x≤0.11 and 0.002≤a0.01. The scandia stabilized zirconia powder has a crystal structure of a rhombohedral crystal phase. A sintered compact of the scandia stabilized zirconia powder has a crystal structure of a cubic crystal phase. The sintered compact of the scandia stabilized zirconia powder is 12 Ωcm or less in grain boundary resistance value at 550°C.SELECTED DRAWING: None
