PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-purifying/greening apparatus capable of performing air purification together with greening while appropriately controlling the amount of moisture in a planting section and a method for controlling the air-purifying/greening apparatus.;SOLUTION: According to the present invention, an air-purifying/greening apparatus 1 comprises: a planting section 2; a supply device 3 for supplying water and/or a nutrient solution; a ventilation fan 4 capable of changing the airflow rate of air passing through the planting section in multiple stages; a moisture sensor 5 for measuring the amount of moisture, and control means 6. The control means includes a normal operation mode, a rapid operation mode, and a pause mode. In the normal operation mode, the ventilation fan is operated so as to obtain an airflow rate at an arbitrary stage, and the supply device is operated when the measured value of the moisture sensor becomes less than a predetermined value. When the rapid operation mode is selected, the ventilation fan is operated so that the airflow rate is higher than the airflow rate in the normal operation mode, and the supply device is operated when the measured value of the moisture sensor becomes less than the set value.
