PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cultivation method of plants in the Boraginaceae family for which the amount of shikonin, which accumulates in the roots thereof, or a derivative of shikonin can be increased.;SOLUTION: The cultivation method of plants in the Boraginaceae family is characterized in that the amount of shikonin which accumulates in the roots thereof, or a derivative of shikonin can be increased by artificially exposing the leaves and stems of the plant body of plants in the Boraginaceae family to violet light having a peak wavelength between 390 and 420 nm.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
