PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite sintered compact for a cutting tool in which hardness and impact resistance are excellent and service life is improved, and a cutting tool utilizing the same.SOLUTION: By eliminating a direct bond between cubic boron nitride particles and minimizing the brittle properties of cubic boron nitride, the hardness and impact resistance of a composite sintered compact are strengthened to improve the service life of a cutting tool. Further, since the direct bond between the cubic boron nitride particles is eliminated, and the secondary compound is made with a binder, EDM discharge workability is made better, and a cutting step can be made simple.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
