PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of reducing possibility of a data leak without encrypting data.;SOLUTION: An external storage device comprises: a data storage unit 240 in which pieces of data and storage periods are stored in association with one another; and a data erasing unit 230 which acquires the current date from a data output destination terminal that is a data output destination, determines whether the acquired current date exceeds the storage period or not, and when the current time exceeds the storage limit, data exceeding the storage period are erased.
