PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EGR gas amount control method for a vehicle mounted with a VGT turbo, which enables proper EGR control even in a transit period, and a device therefor.SOLUTION: In an EGR gas amount control method for a vehicle mounted with a VGT turbo, a VGT turbo 22 is connected to the suction/exhaust system of an engine 10, and on the basis of a fuel injection amount and an engine rotational frequency, a VG vane 35 and an EGR valve 33 are controlled so as to become a target boost pressure and a target EGR gas amount. The EGR gas amount control method sets a transit period VGT-EGR opening map 45 in which opening of an EGR valve to opening of the VG vane in an operational transit period is set; and in the transit period, controls EGR opening from the transit period VGT-EGR opening map 45 on the basis of the opening of the VG vane set on the basis of the fuel injection amount and the engine rotational frequency.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
