PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress contact failure of a metallic shank and a conductive resin member when the shank is rotated while the conductive resin member is in contact with an end face of the shank, compared with a case where the surface roughness Ra (arithmetic average roughness) of the end face of the shank is larger than 0.8 μm.;SOLUTION: A charging roll 32 comprises a metallic shank 34 and an elastic layer 36 that covers the shank 34, and is rotated while a conductive resin member 42 is in contact with an end face 35 in the axial direction of the shank 34, where the surface roughness Ra of the end face 35 is 0.8 μm or less.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT
