PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it difficult to prevent isolated operation by a distributed power supply from being detected.SOLUTION: A reactive power output device that is connected together with a distributed power supply to a predetermined section in a power system divided into a plurality of sections by switches and outputs reactive power to the predetermined section comprises: a reactive power output unit that outputs reactive power to the predetermined section, the reactive power having an amount depending on a first physical amount of the power system; and a separation estimation unit that compares an index value showing the degree of variations in a second physical amount in the power system with a first determination value to estimate that the predetermined section has been separated from the power system. The reactive power output unit, when it is estimated that the predetermined section has been separated from the power system, switches a control mode for outputting the reactive power to the predetermined section from a first control mode to a second control mode so that isolated operation by the distributed power supply is easily detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
