PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus capable of efficiently operating an examination which is based on an examination order.SOLUTION: The apparatus according to the present invention comprises: connecting means configured to connect light irradiating means for irradiating a subject with light to a plurality of measuring means including receiving means for receiving acoustic waves generated from the subject irradiated with light; first acquisition means for acquiring information related to an examination order; second acquisition means for acquiring information related to measuring means selected from the plurality of measuring means connected to the connecting means; and determination means for determining whether or not the selected measuring means conforms to the examination order on the basis of the information related to the examination order and the information related to the selected measuring means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
