PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat resistant glycoside hydrolase enzyme exhibiting both cellobiohydrolase activity and endoglucanase activity at 65°C or more, even at 70°C in the presence of Ca ion, as well as polynucleotides encoding the heat resistant glycoside hydrolytic enzyme, a vector for expressing the enzyme, a transformant carrying the vector and a method for producing cellulose degradation products using the enzyme.SOLUTION: Provided is a heat resistant glycoside hydrolase enzyme exhibiting hydrolytic activity to both phosphoric acid swollen avicel (PSA) and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) as substrates under the conditions of 65°C or more and pH4.0. The heat resistant glycoside hydrolase enzyme comprises two polypeptides linked directly or via a linker, each polypeptide comprises a specified amino acid sequence or the specified amino acid sequence with deletion, substitution or addition of one or several amino acids.SELECTED DRAWING: None
