PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of an oil seal of a double-cylinder type shock absorber.SOLUTION: A double-cylinder type shock absorber 100 comprises a rod guide 7 which is fit to an end part of an inner case 1, and supports a piston rod 4 via a bush 9 which is arranged at an internal periphery, and an oil seal 11 which is gripped by the rod guide 7 and an outer case 2, and slide-contacts with the piston rod 4. The rod guide 7 has an accommodation part 7d in which a seal lip 11b of the oil seal 11 formed at a face of the oil seal 11 side is accommodated, and a recess 7h which is recessively formed at a bottom face 7f of the accommodation part 7d. The recess 7h is formed toward the outside of a radial direction with a position which is separated from an external peripheral face of the piston rod 4 by a starting point distance L2 as a starting point 7g.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
