PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the measurement (the measurement of at least either one of the amplitude and the phase relating to a plurality of frequency components) of a transient absorption response within one shot period of probe light.SOLUTION: A transient absorption response detection device includes: an optical frequency comb source 11; an optical frequency comb modulator 12 for increasing the repetition frequency of a pulse train that constitutes an optical frequency comb by performing phase modulation for each vertical mode of the optical frequency comb on a frequency axis; a probe optical irradiation system 13 for irradiating a specimen SMPL with this optical frequency comb; a pump optical irradiation system 14 for irradiating the specimen SMPL and optically exciting the specimen; a detection light emission system 15 for emitting the transmitted light or reflected light of the probe light applied to the specimen SMPL as the transient absorption response light, to a spectrum detection device; a reference light emission system 16 for emitting the optical frequency comb generated by the optical frequency comb source to the spectrum detection device as a reference light; and a spectrum detection device 17 for detecting a phase spectrum of the transient absorption response light from the transmitted light and the reference light of the probe light.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
