In various embodiments, the present invention generally relates to the use of bispecific antibodies for the prevention and treatment of HIV. In one aspect, the invention relates to a bispecific antibody for neutralizing HIV. The bispecific antibody includes portions of a first and a second antibody that binds to an HIV envelope protein. In certain embodiments, the first antibody is selected from PGT145, PG9, PGT128, PGT121, 10-1074, 3BNC117, VRC01, PGT151, 4E10, 10E8 and variants thereof. In certain embodiments, the bispecific antibody comprises a portion of a second antibody that binds to a cell membrane protein.
