PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of focus adjustment by a phase different detection system.SOLUTION: An imaging device of the present invention includes: an imaging element for generating a pair of images on the basis of a beam of light from a subject that has passed through the mutually different areas of a lens; and a focus adjustment device for adjusting focus by controlling the drive of the lens on the basis of a phase difference between the pair of images. The focus adjustment device includes: a storage unit for storing feature value information that represents the point spread function of the lens that changes in accordance with physical relationship between the imaging element and the lens; a frequency analysis unit for analyzing the frequency characteristics of the pair of images; a shift amount calculation unit for calculating a shift amount that corresponds to the phase difference between the pair of images; a conversion information generation unit for generating conversion information used when calculating from a shift amount between the pair of images the drive amount of the lens to a position that is in focus, on the basis of the feature value information and the frequency characteristics of the pair of images; and a drive amount calculation unit for calculating the drive amount of the lens on the basis of the shift amount between the pair of images and the conversion information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
