PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a multifunctional hybrid material excellent in mechanical properties as well as wear resistance.SOLUTION: The first functional hybrid material is composed of: open cell liparite aggregate powder essentially consisting of quartz; and an ultrahigh molecular polyethylene or polypropylene as the binder resin of the aggregate powder. Regarding the blending ratio, the aggregate powder being 75 to 90%, and the balance binder resin. in the second multifunctional hybrid material, negative-thermal expansive material powder is used as a part of the aggregate powder. In the third and fourth hybrid materials, the ones obtained by adding titanium nanotubes to the first, second multifunctional hybrid materials are used.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
