PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyheptamethylene carbonate diol and a polyalkylene carbonate diol copolymer having a heptamethylene group which are best polycarbonate diols as raw materials for production of polyurethane, thermoplastic elastomer and the like and as constituting materials for coating materials, adhesives and the like by solving conventional technical drawbacks including high crystallinity, high melting point, high melt viscosity and the like; and to provide a method for producing these.SOLUTION: The polyheptamethylene carbonate diol and the polyalkylene carbonate diol copolymer having a heptamethylene group, which have hydroxyl groups on molecule terminals, can solve the problem of the conventional technology including high crystallinity, high melting point, high melt viscosity and the like. The polyheptamethylene carbonate diol and the polyalkylene carbonate diol copolymer having a heptamethylene group have fluidity for example, at room temperature or in a normal working environment.
