In response to determining that temperature or power consumption exceeds a threshold, methods and devices are disclosed for managing data flow for a concurrent multimedia application executing on a device containing a SoC. The lowest priority data flow can be identified. A data flow path associated with the identified lowest priority data flow may be tracked. Multimedia parameters of any hardware module along the data flow path can be reduced. When temperature or power consumption no longer exceeds the threshold, the highest priority data flow between multimedia applications with reduced multimedia parameters can be identified. The data flow path for the data flow associated with the identified highest priority data flow can be tracked. The multimedia parameters may be restored to the initial value along the tracked data flow path for the data flow associated with the identified highest priority data flow.
