PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cryopreservation composite and a cryopreservation method by which human pluripotent stem cells applicable to regenerative medicine are safely and efficiently cryopreserved without using a harmful cryopreservation agent like dimethyl sulfoxide or animal derived components.SOLUTION: The succinic anhydride reacts with ε-poly-L-lysine to convert the 60% or more of amino groups of ε-poly-L-lysine into carboxyl groups. The polymer compound thus obtained is dissolved in physiological saline or the like at 5-7.5 w/w% to make a vitrified liquid containing 6-7.5 M of ethylene glycol and 0.75 M of sucrose. The crystallization of water in low temperature is suppressed by the composition, and a highly efficient cryopreservation is possible because a steady glassy state is obtained in the cooling rate region of -70 to -300°C/min.
