PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthen pot capable of keeping an inside cooked product warm for a long time after cooking in a microwave oven and taking out therefrom.SOLUTION: An earthen pot 10 in which an inner pot 12 is stored in a pot body 11 by engaging a flange part 12b of the inner pot 12 to an inner pot receiving shelf 11b of the pot body 11, and a food material is put into the inner pot 12 followed by covering an upper end opening 12a of the inner pot 12 with a pot lid 13, is put into a microwave oven to make a heat-generating layer 12c of the inner pot 12 generate heat with microwaves, heat the inner pot 12, and heat and cook the food material put into the inner pot 12. An almost sealed void S is formed between the earthen pot body 11 and the inner pot 12. A cooked product inside the inner pot 12 is kept warm by the heat insulation effect of an air layer in the void S. Since heat-retaining effect continues during taking a meal after removing the pot lid 13, the sufficiently warm cooked product can be eaten. A non-permeable layer 12d is formed on the heat-generating layer 12c of the inner pot 12 so as to prevent the inner pot 12 and the pot body 11 from being contaminated with broth through penetration of broth in the inner pot 12 into the inner pot 12 or leakage to the outside of the inner pot 12.
