PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quality management method and a quality management system for improving shipment yield even when quality dispersion occurs in a longitudinal direction of a hot rolled steel plate without providing another dedicated sensor.SOLUTION: A quality management system for a hot rolled steel plate configured to wind up a steel plate cooled in a runout table with a take-up device after being rolled by the final stand of a finish rolling machine of hot-rolling equipment comprises a slow cooling hysteresis-quality correlation table saving device that holds correlation data between slow cooling hysteresis obtained empirically regarding the steel plate and material quality, a slow cooling temperature hysteresis calculation device that obtains a slow cooling temperature hysteresis in a runout table for a finish-rolled steel material, and a quality distribution evaluation device that refers to the slow cooling hysteresis-quality correlation table saving device, obtains data of a corresponding quality, and estimates a quality distribution of a steel plate from obtained quality data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
