PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized electromagnetic chuck which has a holding power sufficient to withstand during processing, and a composite grinder with the electromagnetic chuck.SOLUTION: Each of electromagnetic chucks 61 to 64 comprises: groove parts 173 which are formed a face plate 171, and each of which is arranged between a magnetic pole part 172 and a neighboring magnetic pole part 172; a magnetic chuck body 170 which attracts and fixes a work-piece W on an upper surface of the magnetic pole parts 172 by a magnetic power of the magnetic pole parts 172; and pressing members 180 which are disposed in the groove parts 173, and which press the work-piece W, in particular, a lower surface of work-piece W to a direction to an attracting direction, with a force smaller than the force of the magnetic pole part 172 for attracting the work-piece W when the work-piece W is fixed on an upper surfaces of the magnetic pole parts 172.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
